What should I expect?
The bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the King (1 Timothy 6:13-15), Head (Ephesians 1:22), and Shepherd (John 10:14-16) of His Church. Christ has given the church the gift of His Word to be the both the supreme guide and authority through which His Church is built up in Him.
As a local church and a community of believers in Port Erin, Grace Baptist Church meets regularly in obedience to Jesus, our Lord and King, to worship him according to His word, to love and encourage one another, and to be edified through the ministry of His word.
As such, the bible is at the heart of our gathered worship. We read the bible, we sing hymns, old and new, rich with Scripture, we pray the bible, we partake in the ordinances (baptism and the Lord’s supper) as commended in Scripture and we proclaim Jesus Christ through the preaching of His Word (2 Corinthians 4:5).
