God
There is one true and living God. He exists eternally as three divine persons: the Father, Son, and the Spirit. The Father, the Son, and the Spirit co-exist as one divine being, indivisible and co-equal in power, authority, and glory.
Christ
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, having two natures: both truly divine and truly man. He was born of the virgin Mary, suffered death on the cross, was buried, and raised to life.
The Spirit
The indispensable work of the Spirit in the life and worship of the church. God the Spirit glorifies the Son. He regenerates, converts, equips, and sanctifies the people of God.
The Scriptures
The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the word of God. The Holy Scriptures are inerrant (without error), fully sufficient and authoritative, being the sole rule of faith and obedience.
Man
Man is the special creation of God. God made man male and female in His image. Man was made to know and glorify God. Having broken God’s righteous law, he fell into a state of sin. All are guilty law-breakers and under just condemnation for sin.
Salvation
Jesus Christ is the only redeemer of God’s elect and the sole mediator between God and man. He fully obeyed God’s law and died a substitutionary death on the cross to reconcile guilty sinners with God. Salvation is found by trusting in His finished work of atonement.
The Church
There is one universal church, the body of Christ, under the rule and lordship of Christ her King. The Church is comprised of the redeemed people of God, called out among the nations. Local churches are localised congregations of faithful believers.
The Judgement
Jesus Christ will return in glory to judge the living and the dead. The righteous will be raised bodily into a state of glory and eternal blessedness and the wicked raised to just punishment.
We are committed to the proclamation of God’s word, the exaltation of Christ, the spread of the gospel among the nations, and the faithful worship of God’s people.
A Confessional Church
Grace Baptist Church, Port Erin is a confessional Reformed Baptist Church. We hold to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith as a faithful summary of biblical teaching.
